Johnny works with CapEos bringing expertise in impact investments through his role as founder of INVESTPIRE Impact Investments.
CapEos was founded in 2013 to provide dedicated and tailor-made fundraising services to private equity and venture capital fund managers.
The firm has carved out a distinctive position as one of the leading placement agents specializing in the "Double EM" niche—Emerging Managers in Emerging Markets—where they believe they can add the most value.
Based in London and authorized and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority, CapEos offers access to an extensive global network of professional investors with a presence in Europe, including Development Finance Institutions, Fund of Funds, Asset Managers and Family Offices.
The firm is registered as a limited company in England and Wales (No. 8647005).
CapEos differentiates itself through a highly selective approach to mandates, working with only a select group of managers to maintain trusted relationships with their investor base.
This selectivity and diligence helps preserve their reputation and ensures they can provide the highest level of professional service aimed at building long-term relationships.
The firm strives to source, retain and grow capital for clients while maintaining a sound understanding of investor needs to advise on the most effective fundraising strategies and implementation plans.
Fundraising
CapEos dedicates substantial time and effort to understanding each client's positioning and helping them devise fundraising strategies that fit their needs and long-term objectives while staying in tune with their capital market environment.
The firm follows a comprehensive approach that encompasses a fund's current and past placement efforts to create an effective placement process.
Understanding the time constraints on fund managers, especially at "key persons" level, CapEos carefully targets a highly-focused investor base and makes only relevant introductions to investors with aligned objectives.
The firm also helps managers prepare for prospective investors' due diligence processes and, where needed, assists in assessing fund structure and terms, market positioning, competitive environment and marketing materials.
Investor Relations
As an integral part of their mandates, once a fund is raised, CapEos maintains close contact with both General Partners (GPs) and Limited Partners (LPs) to help implement and maintain sound dialogue between all parties.
This dedication to building long-term and trusted relationships with investors and managers is central to their approach and is a key component of successful fundraising campaigns for follow-on funds.
Research
As managers prepare for fundraising campaigns, CapEos can undertake market research on an ad hoc basis to help assess competitive environments, including market mapping and standard fund terms.
The firm cooperates with leading academic professionals for this research when required.
Since its inception in 2013, CapEos has helped raise over USD 300 million in funding commitments from leading global investors, with several further commitments under active consideration.
The firm believes in partnering with clear leaders in their fields whose interests are clearly aligned with those of their investors.
CapEos has worked with a select group of asset managers within their "Double EM" target niche, including:
- Almaz Capital: A venture capital asset manager focused on bridging the US and CEE technology sectors
This diverse portfolio demonstrates CapEos's deep expertise across emerging markets in Europe, Africa, Central Asia, and South Asia, spanning sectors from technology and financial services to real estate and agriculture.
CapEos has built its reputation around the "Double EM" niche—Emerging Managers in Emerging Markets.
This focused approach allows the firm to concentrate on areas where they can add the most value, working with managers who may not have the same access to established investor networks as larger, more established firms.
The firm focuses primarily on primary fundraising for Private Equity and Venture Capital funds, but can also assist with direct project funding and secondary strategies.
CapEos maintains strong relationships with a wide array of investors with a presence in Europe who are active across several capital markets, giving them specialized access to Development Finance Institutions, Fund of Funds, Asset Managers and Family Offices interested in emerging market opportunities.
