Alvine Capital is an independent specialist placement agency and investment advisor founded in 2005 with a constant focus on alternative investments.
Operating as one of the leading placement agents in Europe, the firm has built nearly two decades of experience partnering with both large established managers and those seeking seed investment across the alternative asset landscape.
The firm positions itself as a boutique with an institutional mindset, prioritizing the strength and depth of relationships over volume of interactions. Alvine Capital has developed deep relationships with key decision makers at sophisticated institutions, with particular expertise in the Nordic, UK, Swiss, and German markets.
The team comprises 16 professionals based across offices in London and Stockholm, representing a broad range of experiences, nationalities, and expertise.
Alvine Capital works across the entire spectrum of alternatives, understanding that no two mandates are identical.
The firm has successfully raised capital within traditional private equity buyout and direct lending strategies, as well as more esoteric, differentiated, and uncorrelated niche strategies.
Their mission centers on fully understanding an investor's parameters and mandate before presenting ideas, regardless of complexity.
In a highly saturated market, Alvine Capital differentiates itself through its institutional understanding coupled with a boutique approach.
The firm is comfortable working with established fund managers seeking bespoke solutions, as well as emerging managers looking to establish their presence in Europe.
Alvine Capital Management (UK) Limited is authorized and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority, while Alvine Capital AB is regulated by the Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority (Finansinspektionen).
Alvine Capital provides specialized placement and advisory services across three primary alternative investment strategies:
Private Equity: The firm identifies innovative PE managers who employ dynamic, concentrated long-term investing coupled with selective use of leverage.
Alvine Capital recognizes that valuable sources of focused alpha can be found with managers who adapt their strategies to current market conditions while maintaining disciplined investment approaches.
Private Debt: With the continued hunt for yield and acceptance of less liquid assets, private credit has become a more prominent alternative asset class.
Over the years, Alvine Capital has identified strategies within this space that offer investors alternatives and complements to both fixed income and more mainstream direct lending products.
The firm works with managers providing differentiated approaches to credit investing.
Hedge Funds: The firm also advises on hedge fund strategies, though specific details on their approach in this space are focused on uncorrelated and differentiated opportunities that meet institutional requirements.
Alvine Capital's recent successes comprise a variety of strategies and asset classes, reflecting the versatility of their approach.
The firm serves both established fund managers looking for bespoke European distribution solutions and emerging managers seeking to establish their brand in European institutional markets.
Alvine Capital operates through two strategic European offices that enable comprehensive coverage of key institutional markets:
United Kingdom Office: Located at 8 Hill Street, London, W1J 5NG, this office serves as the firm's headquarters and primary base for UK, Swiss, and broader European institutional relationships.
Alvine Capital Management (UK) Limited is authorized and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (Registered No. 05504902).
European Office (Stockholm): Located at Riddargatan 18, SE 114 51, Stockholm, Sweden, this office provides dedicated coverage of the Nordic markets.
Alvine Capital AB is a Swedish company regulated by the Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority (Finansinspektionen), ensuring full compliance with local regulatory requirements.
This dual-office structure reflects Alvine Capital's commitment to deep, localized relationships with institutional investors across Northern Europe while maintaining the coordination and expertise of a unified platform.
Alvine Capital has developed particular expertise in serving institutional investors across specific European markets.
The firm's primary geographic focus encompasses the Nordic region (Denmark, Finland, Norway, Sweden), United Kingdom, Switzerland, and Germany - markets where the team has cultivated deep relationships with key decision makers at sophisticated institutions.
The firm specializes in working with institutional clients including pension funds, insurance companies, family offices, and other professional investors seeking exposure to alternative investments.
Alvine Capital's approach emphasizes understanding complex mandates and parameters before presenting investment opportunities, regardless of how esoteric or differentiated the strategy may be.
As a specialist European placement agent, the firm supports GPs (General Partners) worldwide with their European fundraising efforts.
This includes both established global managers seeking enhanced European distribution and emerging managers looking to build their initial presence in European institutional markets.
The firm's expertise spans seed capital arrangements through to later-stage fund closings across the alternative investment spectrum.
